About This Tool
Crop PDF changes the visible area of PDF pages. Load a file, pull the frame on the page preview in around the area to keep, decide whether the same frame should apply to every page with the Apply to all pages box, then click Crop PDF and save the copy ending _cropped.
The frame is a free rectangle that you resize by its edges and corners, and Zoom In, Zoom Out, Reset and Fullscreen help with fine edges. There are no typed margins and no automatic white-space detection. With Apply to all pages ticked, the frame on the page you are viewing is used on every page as a proportion of that page's size, so documents with mixed page sizes keep different dimensions. Unticked, only the pages you visit in the preview are cropped, each with its own frame.
Cropping works by setting each page's CropBox, the value that tells readers which part of the page to show and print. Content outside the frame is not deleted: it stays in the file, comes back if someone resets the crop in a PDF editor, and may still appear in search results or copied text. Nothing inside the frame is redrawn, so text stays sharp and selectable, and you should not expect a smaller file. Frame positions are calculated from the full page size, so check rotated pages and pages already cropped by other software.
The preview and the crop are both produced in your browser tab, and the document is not uploaded. If a header on an instrument printout carries sample IDs or names that must not leave your team, cropping is the wrong tool; redact the area and rasterise the copy instead.

How to Use
Add the PDF
Drop one PDF on the upload area. The first page appears with a crop frame around it.
Draw the frame
Drag the edges and corner handles inwards, or drag inside the frame to move it. Zoom in for precise edges.
Choose the pages
Tick Apply to all pages to reuse this frame everywhere, or move through pages with the arrows or page box and set a frame on each one.
Crop and download
Click Crop PDF, then download the _cropped copy and page through it to check every page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does cropping delete the content I trim off?
No. The trimmed area is hidden by the page CropBox but stays in the file, and a PDF editor can reveal it again. For sensitive content use Redact PDF followed by Rasterize PDF.
How do I crop every page the same way?
Set the frame on a typical page, not a cover page, tick Apply to all pages and click Crop PDF. The frame is applied in proportion to each page.
Can I type exact margins in millimetres?
No. The crop area is set by dragging the frame, so zoom in for accuracy. If you need a standard paper size, Fix Page Size is the better tool.
Why were some pages not cropped?
With Apply to all pages unticked, only pages you opened in the preview are cropped. Visit each page and set its frame, or tick the box.
Will cropping make the file smaller?
Do not expect it to, because the hidden content is still stored. Use Compress PDF to reduce the size.
