About This Tool
GMP Stamp adds a coloured document status stamp, such as APPROVED, CONTROLLED COPY, DRAFT or SUPERSEDED, to the pages of a PDF. Pick a preset, set the style, size and opacity, click Place Stamp on Page, drag the stamp into position on each page that needs it, then click Save Stamped PDF.
Ten fixed presets come in three colours. The green ones include APPROVED, CONTROLLED COPY and FOR REVIEW, the blue one is SAMPLE, and the red ones are DRAFT, SUPERSEDED, VOID, CONFIDENTIAL and NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION. Box draws a 3-point coloured border around the words and Text Only prints the words alone. Size runs from 50% to 300% and Opacity from 30% to 100%. The wording cannot be edited and there are no date, name, revision or document number fields, so a label your procedures use, such as OBSOLETE, is not available here. Stamps cannot be rotated and are placed one page at a time.
On saving, each stamp is drawn into the page content in Helvetica Bold by pdf-lib, so it displays and prints like the rest of the page rather than as a comment. It is not locked: PDF editing software can still alter or remove it. The stamp changes how the page looks and nothing more: it does not approve a document, it is not an electronic signature, and it does not meet any GMP, Annex 11 or Part 11 requirement on its own. Status, approval and distribution stay under your document control procedures.
Your PDF stays in the browser tab from loading to saving and is not uploaded. Stamp copies rather than the controlled master, and look at every stamped page before printing, particularly in documents that mix page sizes or orientations.

How to Use
Add the document
Drop one PDF on the upload area. The first page opens in a preview; a password-protected file will not load.
Choose a preset and its look
Click a preset under GMP Stamp Presets, then set Stamp Style (Box or Text Only), Size and Opacity.
Place the stamp
Click Place Stamp on Page. The stamp appears in the centre; drag it with a mouse or trackpad to a margin or the header area.
Stamp other pages
Use the page arrows to move through the document and place stamps where needed. The Document Stamps list shows each stamp and its page.
Save
Click Save Stamped PDF and download the copy, which has gmp_stamped_ in front of the original file name.

Mark the old revision SUPERSEDED and the new one SAMPLE so printouts used in a session are not mistaken for issued copies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a GMP stamp approve or release a document?
No. The stamp only shows a status on a PDF copy. Approval, effective dates and distribution are recorded in your document management system under your own procedures, and the stamp is not an electronic signature.
Can I change the stamp wording or colour?
No. The ten presets have fixed text and colours. For your own wording, such as OBSOLETE, the Stamp tool in Edit PDF lets you create a stamp with custom text, saved as an annotation.
Can I add a date or document number?
Not to the stamp. Header & Footer can add a line of text with page numbers and the date to every page.
Can I stamp every page in one go?
No. Each stamp goes on the page you are viewing. Move through the pages with the arrows and place one wherever it is needed.
Can the stamp be removed after saving?
It is drawn into the page rather than added as a comment, but PDF editing software can still remove or change it. It does not show whether a file has been altered.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Stamps are positioned by dragging with a mouse, so a desktop or laptop with a mouse or trackpad is the practical choice.
